Susan G. Komen 3-day

https://www.scrapbookroyalty.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=17&Itemid=100044

I know it is a busy time in all of our lives and that many people’s financial situations have changed over the last few years. As you know my family has had many challenges financially just like so many others. God has been teaching us just how blessed we are and even though we are not in the same place financially we have more blessings than we can count. I have been reminded time and again through this journey that giving is such a key, helping those who may not be able to help themselves. I have found a charity called Scrapbook Royalty that does just that. They give from their heart through crafting events to raise money for noble causes. I have joined them by giving of my time in helping to raise funds for different charities, donating handmade items for raffles and giving a portion of my sales on Etsy to them. They are hosting a 3-day event in November to raise money for a charity I feel passionate about; Susan G. Komen, it supports breast cancer awareness and early detection. Like the 3-day walk Susan G. Komen puts on I will be required to raise at least $2000. My personal goal is to raise over $3000 and would love for your help.
I am participating in this event for many reasons; the first would be to celebrate the success of early detection in my life. My grandmother Cecelia Decoteau was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 19 and has been cancer free for 13 years and one of my best friends Sharon Carpenter was diagnosed with breast cancer but has been cancer free for 7 years and Amy Larsen one of my best friends sisters. The second reason for me participating many of you may not know but I have personally had a large lump and after testing am blessed to say it was not cancer. Imagine being in your mid twenties and finding a lump, fear! I have a strong relationship with Jesus and know everything works for his glory, it was a wakeup call. The third and most important reason is for my daughter and yours the women of our future. I am truly blessed to have a husband who supports me and help me raise money so we can give back to others. I will be excepting donations two ways, send me a check made out to Scrapbook Royalty or go to their web-site and donate in my name there.

I will also be hosting fundraising events through October if you have any handmade items, craft items I can sell or gift certificates you would like to donate I could use them to raise funds as well.
Please help raise awareness and find a cure. Please don’t forget getting regular screening tests is the best way for women to lower their risk of dying from breast cancer. Screening tests can find breast cancer early, when it's most treatable, so do your monthly self exams and visit your Doctor for your Mammogram.
Thanks for your help!

My new class

My next class will be at
in
Chino, CA
We don't have the details ironed out so keep checking
their web-site and my blog for all the details.
It should be at the end of March or begining of April.

I am so happy with how this turned out. I used Mod Podge to cover the front of a frame with pages from a Bible I got at a thrift store. I sprayed some pages with Glimmer Mist (by Tattered Angels) and made them into flowers. I am going to add pictures to the two matts I added and in the center of my daughter and niece. After this picture was taken I added some doilies that I sprayed with pink glimmer mist. Once it is on Metro's web-site in the next week or so you will be able to see it complete. Thanks for checking it out. Hope to see you at the class.

Also check out this site for a giveaway.

Frogs for Breakfast

Have you heard, I sell my craft on Etsy. I enjoy working with my hand being creative and decided to open an Etsy store to sell what I make. I have over 40 items for sale right now and would love for you to come check them out. I make notebooks out of recycled boxes and I sell Clauss Scissors, they are a very sharp industrial scissors great for crafting.

So a few days ago I made my family FROGS for breakfast. They are so yummy, basically it is fried bread that you serve with butter and syrup. My Mom used to make them for us when we were younger, they were a sleep over tradition. I am officially gaining weight this week because I made them again this morning, I couldn't help it.
* I have gotten a lot of questions about them so here goes another recipe from my secret stash.
2 cups Flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. Salt
3/4 cups milk

Pour a bottle of vegetable oil into Deep Fryer and turn it on high. Mix ingredients together, and knead the dough slightly. Roll out just under 1/4 inch think on a floured service. Cut the dough into 2 inch squares or desired shape (my Mom used to use cookie cutters) Make sure oil is hot and drop a few in. Once they have been in for a little bit turn them over with tongs. Both sides should be Golden Brown and the dough should expand a little just like the throat of a FROG (hints the name) Enjoy with a little butter and syrup.
